Q: What age division will you be playing in?

A: We will be playing in the 9U division and using the USSSA cut-off date. This means that the age of your athlete is determined by the age they are on April 30, 2019. Players who turn 10 prior to May 1 of the current season are not eligible unless they are in the 3rd grade. Also, any player turning 11 prior to May 1 will not be eligible. Players who are 9U are eligible for this division regardless of their grade.

Q: My daughter loves baseball. Can she try out for the team?

A: Absolutely. We welcome all athletes who qualify for the 9U baseball division to come to tryouts.  If you are hesitant about your daughter joining the baseball team, please feel free to call Coach April at 323.313.2233. She is one of  our baseball coaches, a co-owner of GOAT Sports Training, a former baseball player, and she'll be happy to address any concerns you may have.

Q: What does my athlete need to bring for tryouts?

A: Please have your athlete come prepared to play baseball. They should wear athletic or workout attire, including cleats, and should bring a bat and glove along with any other equipment they have.  If your athlete is unable to bring these items, or if you need assistance finding the right equipment, please contact Coach April by text or phone at 323.313.2233.

Q: How much does it cost to be on this team?

A: We are still finalizing the schedule, which affects the cost, and hope to get this to you as soon as possible.

Q: What is the time commitment for this team?

A: Our season runs September 1 - December 15. We will hold practice or play a scrimmage game twice a week in/or around South Pasadena. Each practice will be between  1.5 -2 hours. This team will participate in at least one tournament per month. We are aware that some of our athletes play multiple sports, and we will publish the schedule before a commitment is required.

Q: How many athletes will be on the team?

A: Our goal is to field a team of 13 athletes so that all athletes get time on the field. If one of our athletes is unable to make a tournament or scrimmage, they will not be replaced by someone who is available. The 13 athletes that are selected to play on the team will remain teammates.
